Thank you for stopping by my cake blog. I have stopped making cakes since I got very sick in 2009. I realized my addiction to sugar and gluten were killing me, so I got busy trying to figure out what was wrong with me.  Cake decorating was a major passion and a way to be creative in using my talents, so it felt like a death in the family to have to give it up! But since then, I have discovered something new...

I found Raw Food and have been encorporating the incredible information I have been pouring over since, and applying it to my body. I have had very successful results and I am feeling 150% better than ever! To learn more about my journey and how it may help you, please visit www.rawchefwendy.com

ASHLEY

This cake was made for my brother and sister-in-law for their wedding in May. It features quilted rolled fondant, painted in metallic colors using luster dust. I hand-made each fondant pearl and put them on one by one. It was a labor of love and they were happy with how it turned out.

Piano Cake

I made this piano cake for my mother's 70th birthday in June. It was fun to construct the base and seat out of wood and assemble the whole thing. The rose is the flower of June and my mom's favorite, so I made some out of  fondant. It withstood the evening well and everyone loved it - especially mom!

WEDDING CAKES

All of these cakes are custom designed. I have a free consultation w/ the bride and groom-to-be, and we discuss every detail of their dream wedding cake.  I sketch the cake for them and will even provide a colored drawing in several different options for them to choose. I want their day to be special and the cake to stand out and be spectacular!

I believe cakes should be the GRAND FINALE of the event that everyone will remember.

ERICA

This fondant cake was fun to make. I re-made the bow because the first one didn't work. I liked this one the best anyway. There are fondant dots on the top tier and S scrolls on the bottom and the colors the bride chose were beautiful. I love the cake topper!

KATIE
Fondant bows can be tricky. They have to be the right consistency to be able to stand up and then drape over the sides just right. The dots made this cake unique and I love the bright colors.
FAIRYTALE WEDDING CAKE

This was quite a cake! 7 tiers of cake and a handmade castle at the top. It took days to make and decorate, but I had a blast! It features hand-strung pearls all around the castle and layered designs around the tiers. I put the finishing touches on with the flowers too.
